LICOSPARS, under the aegis of the class, has developed a new mast for the Platu 25, which perfectly complies with the measurement rules, as per the measurement certificate issued.

Here is a brief description of the profile for the "Platu 25" tree, which Giovanni Lievi, owner of the Licospar company made available to us:

  • We chose our LS 126 profile (126x80) which is the evolution of the profiles we had studied when we were building the masts for the “Free” class boats. The main characteristics of this profile are lightness and small dimensions while maintaining the greatest possible rigidity. The alloy with which the profile is made is 6082 which stands out for its hardness, but also for its extreme elasticity, which favors the passage on the wave of the boat. In the construction phase, we tried to optimize the length of the spreaders in order to load the shaft as little as possible, thus ensuring greater ease in its adjustment. Considering the profile more rigid than the existing ones, it is likely that the sails in use in the mast turn will have to be modified.
